Ju Bronson's portrait

Ju lent himself to the game of portraits, here are some answers to our questions ...

Since when do you evolve in music?

Ju :
I started music with violin at 4-5 years old with an old authoritarian teacher, then piano at 8 with an American who kept repeating "don't break your phalanges" with an American accent. Finally, I started guitar at 13 years old listening to bands like Metallica and Megadeth, because of my cousin who listened to that. Then the music took another turn when I met the musicians of what will later become Disharmony (Romain Goulon and Rémy Lefebvre - who unfortunately passed away a few months ago) and to whom I owe a lot musically. I then did a lot of stage work on cover projects (Reset, Bronson V12, Mustang) and accompanying artists like Team Building Exercice (Paris) or Laetitia Ribeiro (Austria) before creating Schrodinger in 2018 with my comparses. And here we are!

RdvROCK
What are your musical influences?

Ju :
They are very broad, have few limits, except maybe the too experimental music that is not "musical" enough or the commercial stuff that smells like reheated. But those are pretty subjective notions. At the moment, I love Ecliptic Coma by Between the buried and Me, which manages to strike a balance between experimentation and musicality. I could also mention The Bedlam in Goliath by The Mars Volta, which was a monumental slap in the face. In another register, I love latin music a bit perched like the Metal Metal album of the Brazilian band Meta Meta or even more "regular" stuff like the Colombian cumbia or even gypsy jazz and neo soul with guys like Thundercat, Anderson Paak or locally the friends of The Vibe Lobbyist... In short, we can talk about it for hours but to summarize: although there are metal and rock at the origin, I am in perpetual search of new things to put under my ears.

RdvROCK
Have you already recorded an album or an EP?

Ju :
I released "Reversed Evolution" with Disharmony (instrumental prog metal) and recently, there's Schrodinger's "Santa Sierra" EP that you have to go and listen to urgently, if you haven't done so.

RdvROCK
Which song fits you best?

Ju :
With this second containment, it would be "slimming" of San Severino

RdvROCK
Which artist would you like to share the stage with?

Ju :
At the next festival l'Antre du Lion, we will share the stage with Bukowski and that's cool. Igorrr or Mr. Bungle, that would suit me too.

RdvROCK
What are your other passions or interests besides music?

Ju :
I'm interested in visual creation, whether it's images, design or films. It's complementary to music, it can even extend the experience. Lately, it's really film making, music video, I can spend hours doing shoots or watching videos to get inspired.

RdvROCK
If you could only keep 3 albums among all the ones you own, which ones would you keep?

Ju :
Cacophony - Go off
The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath
Mr Bungle - California

RdvROCK
What is the unmentionable song you sing in your shower?

Ju :
I like Ace Base, does that count?

RdvROCK
Define, in 3 words, what music means to you

Ju :
Friends, LOL, beers
